FlowVision is compatible with challenging simulations in the presence of moving objects in the computational domain. Athletic motion is one of the very complex motion definitions for CAE applications. Thanks to FlowVision’s automatic meshing and moving body approach, scanned or reconstructed 4D human geometries can easily be imported to FlowVision and flow simulation can be performed. Accurate transient calculations can be obtained with such approaches in FlowVision.
Until today, FlowVision has been used to help many sports teams and equipment manufacturers.
Some open demos include:
- Skater Modeling & Dynamic Simulation
- Ski-Jump Modeling & Dynamic Simulation
- Sleighing & Bob Sleighing
- Swimming & Submerging
A typical workflow for bringing motion into FlowVision for sports sciences consists of following main steps:
- Capturing Motion of Sportsman by Laser Scanning
- Importing Time-Based Motion Data to FlowVision as Point Clouds
- Definition of Moving Body in FlowVision with Pre-Defined Positions at Each Time Frame
- CFD modeling (single phase or free surface tracking)
